Kirk Cameron Says Homosexuality is "Ultimately Destructive to so Many Foundations of Civilization"

Kirk Cameron made an appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight to promote his new movie, Monumental.  Cameron was asked his position on issues such as abortion, homosexuality, and gay "marriage".  In the interview Kirk stated that homosexuality is "unnatural" and that it {homosexuality} is “ultimately destructive to so many foundations of civilization."  This created quite a stir, so much so that former co-stars of his, celebrities, and homosexual organizations have responded with such demonization, character assassination, and outrageous statements which show their utter intolerance for an opinion that differs from their own.

Kirk Cameron has responded to the firestorm of criticism:

“In a recent interview about my film, “Monumental,” I was asked to share my views on homosexuality, gay marriage and abortion,” Cameron says. “I spoke as honestly as I could, but some people believe my responses were not loving toward those in the gay community. That is not true. I can assuredly say that it’s my life’s mission to love all people.
“The only way to properly answer these kind of questions is to begin the discussion with another question: Is life and sexuality sacred or are they not?” he continues. “If they are, then God has something to say about these things. If not, then everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the matter.
“I believe that freedom of speech and freedom of religion go hand-in-hand in America,” he continues. “I should be able to express moral views on social issues – especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years – without being slandered, accused of hate speech and told from those who preach ‘tolerance’ that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I’m in the public square.
“In any society that is governed by the rule of law, some form of morality is always imposed. It’s inescapable,” Cameron asserts. “But it is also a complicated subject, and that is why I believe we need to learn how to debate these things with greater love and respect.
“I’ve been encouraged by the support of many friends (including gay friends, incidentally). Thank you!” Cameron says. “I look forward to those who will join me as I seek to show you our true ‘National Treasure,’ at the live, nationwide viewing of ‘Monumental’ on Tuesday, March 27.”

Cameron is spot on!! I am in full agreement with him.  Homosexuality is destructive to the family and morality.  For any person to claim that homosexuality is "natural" is absurd and false.  Do you call putting one's "jimmy" in an orifice of another's body, a hole which is not supposed to messed with natural?  Just because something fits into this or that doesn't necessarily mean that a certain object or bodily part is supposed to go into this or that hole.  Just because a screw driver is able to fit into a light socket doesn't mean you should put the screwdriver in the light socket.  This would pose a danger to one's health.  Homosexual behavior is a perversion of the sex act.  The homosexual lifestyle is not beneficial to our society in any, way, shape, or form.   There is no possibility that homosexuals are able to procreate, naturally and therefore does not contribute to the common good in our society. It is an impossibility for homosexuals to be open to the procreative act because they're unable to achieve pregnancy naturally. The homosexual act is not in accordance with the natural law.  Children contribute to the common good in our society and are a positive force for society.  Marriage has been defined as being between a man and a woman since the beginning of time. When a man and a woman engage in sexual relations they are open to procreation.  Regardless of fertility issues they are open to procreation and it is a possibility that procreation will occur. They are open to creating another human being for the betterment of society.

Here is the Monumental Trailer.
The trailer looks good.  I hope to see Monumental on the big screen.

On Homosexuality and the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell: Tolerance or Subversion?

This morning I read an article by Star Parker called Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Repeal a Mistake and this spurred some thoughts of mine on the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell  and homosexuality in general also. With the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell our moral compass reaches a new low,  the Left has succeeded in accelerating the moral decay of this country, with removing religious moral absolutes from our culture as to say that there is no right way to engage in sexual relations.  What’s next?  Is Congress going to declare that children having sexual relations with adults is okay?  Or that persons engaging in sexual relations with animals because it makes them feel good is acceptable also?  Well, the “main stream” of America would have us believe that if something feels good to a person that it is acceptable.  Does the same go for a person who went on a robbing spree because this makes them feel good and they have mommy or daddy issues society should accept this as the norm?  This is how the slippery slope starts.  Where does this slippery slope end with these immoral liberals?  This Congress has given its brand of approval to a socially disordered act - homosexual acts.   These people can’t seem to grasp the concept of separating the person from the act.  Leftists think that if you label the act as disordered or bad that you are labeling the person as disordered or bad.   Do these people think the same of alcoholics?  Are we supposed to accept the lifestyle of alcoholics just to avoid offending their insensitivities?  Do some life circumstances make some individuals more susceptible to become alcoholics than others?  Is it possible that some life circumstances could cause some individuals to me more susceptible to engaging in homosexual acts than others?   If an  individual is around a drunk and abused by a drunk aren’t they more apt to become an alcoholic also?   If a person is molested by his/her father there could be two reactions depending on the gender of the child who is molested.  If a male is molested by his father the son could think that it was his fault and feel bad because he enjoyed it so later in life because of his being predisposed to homosexual activity he turns to homosexual activity and thinks it to be acceptable.  Remember that the female and male body have different chemical make ups so they will react to this type of trauma differently.  A female child who is molested by her father may feel unclean and  blame herself for what happened against her will and since she feels unclean may perceive all sexual relations between men as wrong or disordered.  This stigmatizes both the female and male.  The woman turns to women for love and guidance the type she should have received from her father,  experiences acceptance and love from other women, chooses to experiment sexually with those women and enjoys it.   It was her choice. She wasn’t forced.  She perceives that to be love because her father engaging in sexual activity with her wasn’t love and she probably thinks its going to be this way for her with all men.  Who could blame her for thinking this after the trauma she experienced?   Instead of giving her/him therapy for healing the mind, body, and soul we are told by our society that these persons’ disordered actions which are in response to other disordered behavior are “acceptable” instead of treating the whole problem.  According to the Left “mainstream” America should treat the subversive as normal.

Faithful Catholicism a Firing Offense; Godophobia in Higher Education

In recent years, and especially as of late it has become more prevalent for certain people in our society to defend a Muslim’s right to free speech, and religious freedom while the exact opposite can be said for traditional Christianity. Traditional Christians are told or taught to conform to our ever-changing society which promotes homosexuality, women priests, abortion, contraception and be “tolerant” while there is no tolerance of our traditional religious beliefs. I guess “tolerance” is only a one way street. All religions should be respected for their beliefs. Our constitution guarantees “freedom of religion.” If you looked at our society one might think that our country applied the philosophy of freedom from religion instead freedom of religion in our society today. There have been way too many instances where people stir up trouble and make the claim that the word God or prayer offends them. If that is the case while at the same time they are fine with pornography and sexual implicit scenes and other moral decay of the family being prevalent on both TV and in movies it is because they are either intolerant Godophobes or they must have some mental defect that makes them incapable of comprehending the love of God. Our Founders recognized that both God and religious freedom was important for America and made that one of the underpinnings of America’s foundation. This foundation is very important for America, and for America to be “America” we must continue to defend religious freedom today and not some selective distorted quasi-religious freedom.

There has been an incident at the University of Illinois where a professor was teaching a Catholicism 101 course and someone was offended because the professor explained the tenets of Catholicism which includes having the belief that homosexual acts are a sin. The Catholic professor was fired for teaching one of the beliefs of the Catholic Church - the belief that homosexual acts are sinful. The student accused the professor of hate speech because he thought that the professor should be tolerant of what nonbelievers perceive to be moral behavior when his faith teaches him that homosexuality is immoral. This situation is ludicrous when it was his choice whether to take this particular class or not.

If you took a class called Hindu 101 would expect them to say they like beef and believed it was okay to eat beef just to conform to society when their belief is the exact opposite and that the cow is sacred? If a Christian attended a class called Jewish Faith 101 would you expect the professor to teach about the New Testament when they don’t believe in a New Covenant or that Jesus is the Son of God? Would a Christian student expect Scientology 101 to teach that Christ is Our Creator?

CatholicVoteAction.org has posted both the AP article and the email address of the public affairs office of the University of Illinois on his site. I am in full agreement with his call for people to swamp the university with emails. The fact that both the university and the on-campus Catholic center fired Dr. Howell for being a faithful Catholic is unjust. No person should be discriminated upon for their beliefs. In fact this course is all about the beliefs of the Catholic Church so this whole situation doesn’t make sense. Here is the email that caused Dr. Howell to be fired.

Here is a description of events by Dr. Howell :

Factual Description

Thomas states: “As Catholics, we can’t allow this injustice to stand. If a university can have valid grounds for firing a professor as upstanding a this one for an opinion so universally held by the Church, other universities will be able to gradually push out faithful Catholic teachers from their institutions once they decide the positions taken by the Church and being defended by such-and-such a teacher are inconvenient or offensive.”

I am in full agreement with Thomas’s statement. The University of Illinois is penalizing and persecuting Dr. Howell for his being a faithful Catholic. Secular society is praising dissenting Catholics while persecuting and marginalizing faithful Catholics. This is wrong! We have become a nation in which it is only acceptable to have one set of “religious beliefs” that conforms to those secular societal beliefs of moral relativism, where there is an anything goes policy. These people do not believe in moral absolutes. We have become a nation that no longer respects one’s religious beliefs. This is exactly what the Founders feared. We must fight back against this injustice. When being faithful to one’s own faith, one’s own moral principles is considered to be hate speech then this country has veered way off course to the Left and entered into being an anti-religious State that is diametrically opposite to our Founders core beliefs as to citizens right to religious freedom. We must keep on fighting the good fight to retain and restore our religious rights and restore many of the rights that the immoral secular Left have stolen from us. We must stop the Godophobia!
