Megadeth Guitarist Dave Mustaine Talks Politics with George Stroumboulopoulos of "The Hour"

He talks about his personal life a bit. He explains why he turned to drugs and alcohol. He also describes the circumstances which led him to Christianity. He talks about politics, commenting specifically on the GOP field and the Obama eligibility issue.  Good interview.

Here is the song "We The People" from Dave Mustaine's new album "Th1rt3en".

I am not into heavy metal but I enjoyed listening to this song.  I will have to check out more of his music.

Michelle Malkin Has Endorsed Rick Santorum For President

Michelle Malkin has endorsed Rick Santorum for President. Michelle gives reasons why she chose to support Rick.

From Michelle Malkin.com:

Rick Santorum opposed TARP.
He didn’t cave when Chicken Littles in Washington invoked a manufactured crisis in 2008. He didn’t follow the pro-bailout GOP crowd — including Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich — and he didn’t have to obfuscate or rationalize his position then or now, like Rick Perry and Herman Cain did. He also opposed the auto bailout, Freddie and Fannie bailout, and porkulus bills.
Santorum opposed individual health care mandates — clearly and forcefully — as far back as his 1994 U.S. Senate run. He has launched the most cogent, forceful fusillade against both Romney and Gingrich for their muddied, pro-individual health care mandate waters.
He voted against cap and trade in 2003, voted yes to drilling in ANWR, and unlike Romney and Gingrich, Santorum has never dabbled with eco-radicals like John HoldrenAl Gore and Nancy Pelosi. He hasn’t written any“Contracts with the Earth.”
Santorum is strong on border security, national security, and defense. Mitt the Flip-Flopper and Open Borders-Pandering Newt have been far less trustworthy on immigration enforcement.
Santorum is an eloquent spokesperson for the culture of life. He has beensavaged and ridiculed by leftist elites for upholding traditional family values — not just in word, but in deed.
He won Iowa through hard work and competent campaign management. Santorum has improved in every GOP debate and gave his strongest performance last week in Florida, wherein he both dismantled Romneycare and popped the Newt bubble by directly challenging the front-runners’ character and candor without resorting to their petty tactics.
He rose above the fray by sticking to issues.
Most commendably, he refused to join Gingrich and Perry in indulging in the contemptible Occupier rhetoric against Romney. Character and honor matter. Santorum has it.
Now she points out that he doesn't have a perfect conservative record.  But his minor flubs are not nearly as egregious as Newt, Mitt, or Paul's straying from conservative principles.  Let's be clear, there is no perfect person. There is no perfect candidate.  He has been the most consistent conservative out of all the candidates. Michelle  Malkin goes on to explain why she did not endorse Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, or Ron Paul.
Rick Santorum has a new radio ad targeting Newt called "Out Of This World".  America needs to get its fiscal house in order. Newt wants to spend money on a moon colony. That's fiscal insanity.
Rick Santorum is leading in the favorability poll. His speech at St. Charles Community College drew an over capacity crowd.
From the St. Louis Examiner
Many grassroots activists are rallying behind Santorum as the latest conservative hope for the presidential GOP nominee. In a Public Policy Polling article, on Tuesday, Santorum was leading in a favorability poll above all remaining candidates.
In Missouri, held a week from today, Santorum has a 63-21 favorability spread to Gingrich’s 52-32, Romney’s 46-36, and Paul’s 28-57.  On the actual primary ballot, for which Gingrich did not qualify, Santorum leads with 45% to Romney’s 34% and Paul’s 13%.  In the caucus, in which Gingrich can compete, Santorum falls to second at 28% behind the former speaker’s 30% and ahead of Romney’s 24% and Paul’s 11%.  Head-to-head, Gingrich would defeat Romney in the state, 43-42, but Santorum would, 50-37.  That is because Santorum’s supporters only go for Gingrich by eight points over Romney, but Gingrich’s vote for Santorum by 28 points.

Here is Santorum's new T.V. ad:

This is good news for Santorum.  I hope that he picks up momentum again.

Endorsements Galore for Santorum: Evangelical Leaders, South Carolina GOP Leaders and More...

About 150 evangelicals gathered in Texas to vote on which presidential candidate they should rally around to support to be the GOP nominee. After the third round of voting the group decided to back Rick Santorum.  They wanted an alternative candidate to Romney and ended up coalescing around Santorum.  This is great news for Rick.

From Fox News: The call to back Santorum was only finalized after three rounds of ballots. On the third ballot, Santorum received 85 of 114 votes cast -- some conservative leaders who had been backing Gingrich changed their votes in the end to support Santorum. The group rallied around the idea that Santorum, and not Gingrich, is the candidate best able to beat President Obama in November.
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, expressed surprise that the group agreed to back Santorum by such a wide margin, after failing to come together in support of a single candidate in 2008. In that race, the group didn't even meet until the primary race was basically over. This time, according to J.P. Duffy of the Family Research Council, the group wanted to come together "before it was too late."

Rick has received more endorsements from three South Carolina GOP leaders - Stephen Brown, Bill Connor, and Patrick Haddon - Maggie Gallagher of the National Organization For Marriage and the pro-life activist Abby Johnson.

Official Endorsement: I Endorse Rick Santorum for President of the United States of America

Rick Santorum is a stalwart in the movement to stop jihadists and Islamofascists from committing terrorist acts. He has both the moral clarity and a great economic vision which will lead us out of this economic calamity which our country is enduring today. He understands the threat that Islamic Jihadists pose to our country today. We cannot be isolationist and think that if we simply leave our enemy alone they will stay put and everything will be okie dokie. To think that, you must be living in some type of fantasy land. Do you really think that if we had left Hitler alone that he would have just been content with having control over most of Europe? Hitler clamored for more power and thus would have spread his territory farther and wider across the globe.

Rick Santorum knows that the family and economics are interconnected. The morality of the family can very much affect our economics. As you have seen the decline of moral values within the family you have also seen a decline in income within both the lower and middle classes. He is committed to securing the border. He is proud to stand and defend Israel from her enemies, like Iran. He has vowed that under no circumstances can we allow Iran to attain nuclear capabilities.

He has been, is, and will continue to be tough on Islamic terrorism - a member of the anti-jihad movement.

Zilla, one of our great anti-jihad bloggers, has also endorsed Rick Santorum for President of the United States.

Obama has consistently enabled the Jihadist movement.  His policies have been disastrous and harmful to the Middle East, especially Israel. Zilla points out the intentions of the Muslim Brotherhood with regards to the West, including the United States.  This is their own words:

The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion [islam] is made victorious over all other religions.
Here is the official Muslim brotherhood motto (in their own words):
Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.
Zilla has posted a portion of a speech in 2007 that Rick Santorum gave on Islamic Fascism.

"They want to conquer the world for Islam because that's what their book says."Santorum criticized President Bush for "misdefinition of the enemy" and poor communication for terming the struggle a "war on terror.""Terror is a paramilitary tactic," Santorum said. "It's like calling World War II a war on blitzkrieg. … Why have we not said this is a war on an ideology?"Santorum called for political liberals to support the war on radical Islam, pointing to the vulnerable status of women and homosexuals in Islamic countries as evidence that liberal ideals of feminism and gay rights are particularly threatened."There is a lot of common ground here," Santorum said. "When you look at this enemy and who they are, there is much more for liberals not to like about them than even for conservatives not to like. Liberals want a secular government. Let me assure you, radical Islam is not about secular governments."Being called to the challenge of confronting an evil ideology "is not new for America," Santorum said. Americans have also been hesitant to fight, he said, likening American reluctance to come to the defense of its allies in World War II to the public's current ambivalence about the war in Iraq.Like Britain in 1940, America is currently standing alone against a threat - this time from the Islamic world - without the aid of its traditional allies, Santorum said. "Europe is hardly Europe anymore," he told the audience. "Europe will not fight."
"(Islamic radicals) will not leave us alone," he said. "My plea to you is to engage that battle now.""When we are fully engaged in this battle," Santorum added, "we will re-examine ourselves, because we will be fighting an enemy that fundamentally… sees the world differently than we do."
You can see the entire speech here.  Zilla has more great videos of Rick Santorum, information on the un-indicted co-conspirators Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR which exposes their nefarious intentions and endgame for the United States and what may result if we give into dhimmitude, and she has additional great information exposing jihadists so go check out her latest article and the rest of her blog postings.

Good news! - Pamela Geller has informed us that the ninth circuit court has upheld the Holy Land Convictions and now the terrorist organizations must be prosecuted by the DOJ.

If Obama's DOJ doesn't, Rick Santorum's DOJ surely will be vigorously prosecuting these un-indicted co-conspirators.

Stacy McCain has announced some very important endorsements of Rick Santorum. One is the billionaire, Foster Freiss and the other is Iowa's Secretary of State, Matt Schultz.
From Foster Freiss:
Rick Santorum is willing to put country ahead of himself and bear the political consequences...
Recent kind comments by Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck affirm his ability to ignite the all important voters who believe our country is facing a decision between being governed by rules and regulations or inspired by values and virtues. The energy and enthusiasm and dedication he exhibits can best be demonstrated by his visiting all 99 Iowa counties and moving his entire family to Iowa for seven weeks to let people assess who he really is and to see him up close and personal rather than through the gloss of television messaging. . . .
I like the guy. I like his wife. I like his kids. I like everything about him.

From Matt Schultz:

Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz will endorse Rick Santorum for president on Friday, he told The Des Moines Register . . .
Santorum promoted this coup [Thursday] by saying he’d have “a major announcement” during a campaign stop in the Des Moines area at 6 p.m. Friday. . . .
Schultz, who backed Mitt Romney four years ago, is one of the only statewide elected officials in Iowa to publicly back a GOP candidate this election cycle. . . .
Schultz, a 32-year-old Council Bluffs Republican, stayed neutral through the early stages of this presidential selection process because he supervised the ballots for this year’s Republican straw poll on Aug. 13 in Ames.

Rick Santorum for President of the United States

Santorum at SFVRC: A True Government Reformer

These videos were posted via Smitty at The Other McCain. In the videos, which are courtesy of the blogger Three Beers Later, Rick Santorum is speaking in front of the San Fernando Valley Republican Club(SFVRC).  In the introductions Rick Santorum is called, “A Tea Party kinda guy, before there was a Tea Party”.

If you want a government reformer with a proven track record then support and vote for Rick Santorum for President. These videos are a great way for those interested to get to know Rick Santorum better.

From Smitty, "Enjoying these videos while building up the post, I can state without reservation that Santorum ‘gets it’, without the baggage of Romney or Gingrich. I hope that Iowa turns into his campaign boomlet."

Rick talks about his ancestry, American ancestry, and freedom.

From Smitty, "Santorum discusses rights, responsibility, the revolutionary nature of the REAL contract with America… and why the Progressives need to break that contract."

The White House and progressives view people as robots or sheep who can't think for themselves - government knows better than you do - Sheeple.

The Obama Regime's policies are crippling our economy.  Rick has great ideas on how to get our economy booming again.

From Smitty, "On his opponents, entitlements and how to fix both. These uncapped entitlements mean that we cannot know beforehand how much we will spend on them. The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB*) is a new cap for Medicare."

Rick gives examples why he can win this race.

From Smitty, "‘Ipab’ may mean ‘Death Panel’ in Swahili; I’m not sure."

Sarah Palin Praises Rick Santorum For His Ideological Consistency

Many conservatives really wanted Sarah Palin to make a run for the GOP nomination, wanted her to challenge Obama in the general election, so when she decided not to run we were disappointed. She is an outsider who is willing to take on the establishment.  As an outsider and as a person who we trusted enough to want her to run for the presidency shouldn't we trust her insight and the opinions she has of the various political candidates?  Sarah Palin praised Rick Santorum on Hannity last night. I know that Rick is a long shot in the GOP field of candidates but he has never wavered in his beliefs and is a principled individual.  I am not saying that he is the perfect candidate. No one is perfect.  There is no perfect candidate but Rick is a guy who believes in liberty, freedom, American exceptionalism, the sanctity of life, morality, proper role of the tenth amendment, that there is no right to do wrong, and that family comes first.  He has great knowledge in foreign policy and his economic plan which promotes manufacturing jobs, jobs for the middle class, would give our economy a huge boost.  I just hope that you would give Rick Santorum a second look.

“If voters start shifting gears and deciding they want ideological consistency, then they’re going to start paying attention to say, Rick Santorum.”

GOP Presidential Candidates:Thanksgiving Family Forum

For those of you who were unable to view the Thanksgiving Forum which the GOP Presidential candidates participated in last week I have posted the entire forum for you to see. This was an outstanding forum. If you had to see only one of the forums/debates this would be the one I would recommend for you to see. I was extremely impressed with all of the candidates and their answers. At the beginning of the video there is a moving and powerful movie video. Then, the forum starts at about the 36 minute mark. It is a very long video but well-worth the viewing. Frank Luntz and his assistants asked some great questions of the candidates.

H/T Ron Paul 2012

Idealism, the GOP, and Ousting Barack Obama

Our political system is broken and has been broken for years.  It has been corrupted by progressives on both the Right and the Left.  Our politicians haven't been following the Constitution for years.  Many have been working to undermine our Constitution and American values.  We need to return to our Founding principles and keep a vigilant eye on our elected officials as to make sure that they adhere to the Constitution.

We Americans who love our country know that Barack Obama is working to undermine our Constitution in order to "transform" America into what is his progressive vision. We must oust Barack Obama from office.  Knowing that it is imperative to vote Obama out of office in order to save our country from falling permanently into a dark abyss which adheres to Marxist principles we may need to put our idealism on hold and nominate the best, electable person who is able to beat Barack Obama next year.

We need to educate the public on not only American history but also the horrors that Marxism has caused around the world.  The same way that progressivism seeped into our political system and culture is the same way we need to return to our Founding principles.  I say this because if people are pushed too much we may see a backlash and have unintended consequences happen.  I fear that if we nominate a candidate who is too idealistic we are going to turn off voters and they either won't show up at the polls or will vote for Obama.

I am just saying practicality is sometimes better than idealism.  I am sure that each of us has their favorite candidate but we need to really make sure that the candidate we choose to nominate as our GOP nominee has a good chance of beating Barack Obama.  I am not claiming that any particular candidate is unelectable but I just know that it is imperative for us to boot Obama out of office.  We need to choose as our GOP nominee the candidate who has the best chance of beating Obama in 2012.  In addition, conservatives and libertarians need to commit to voting for whomever our nominee is and not be nitpicky and not vote due to your position on a some issues differing from that of our nominee.  I think it is time to save America from the brink of calamity first and then be idealistic later, or at least work toward our ideal goal step-by-step.

Note: I only have limited access to the internet due to technical difficulties in my area so the links posting will have to wait for now.

Rick Santorum Sits Down With Glenn Beck

In this part of Rick Santorum's sit down with Glenn Beck he talks about Israel and it's role in the Middle East. From Fox News, Here is Glenn Beck's introduction of Santorum:

GLENN BECK, HOST: Right now, America needs people who are willing to stand up and lead no matter what the blowback may be.
We have only five shows after this. And I am picking carefully what I do on these five shows.
I think this man is as well. Not many politicians have spine. This man does.
I want to introduce you to a man tonight that I think will make a difference. He already has made a difference. You may not know much about him, you may not like his style. You may not like his policies. In the end, I hope you at least walk away with a feeling that I have about him.
He is an honest man.
I don't pick or choose or back any presidential nominees. However, I do think that some of them need to be exposed. Herman Cain, we exposed a couple of weeks ago. I thought he was worth your time to listen to.
He's proved as much to me a few years ago facing a tough election. He was head of the curve on the threat of radical Islam. We have talked about it between us for years -- radical Islam growing in Iran, the Middle East and the increasing pressure being put on Israel.
He knew it wasn't popular in the polls when he was running. The last thing he wanted to talk about was the Middle East. He told me at the time when I said, you know, you should back off of this, because this isn't helping your re-election -- he said he wouldn't be able to face his children if he didn't speak out, even if it meant he lost. He did. But he can sleep at night.
Joining me now is former senator and GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

Here is a video of the entire interview.

Republicans Introduce Bill to Eliminate Obama's 39 Czars

                          (Moonbattery)
House Republicans introduced a bill today to eliminate Obama’s 39 czars.
The Hill reported:
A group of House Republicans introduced a bill on Wednesday to rein in the various “czars” in the Obama administration.
Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and 28 other House Republicans introduced legislation to do away with the informal, paid advisers President Obama has employed over the past two years.
The legislation, which was introduced in the last Congress but was not allowed to advance under Democratic control, would do away with the 39 czars Obama has employed during his administration.
The bill defines a czar as “a head of any task force, council, policy office within the Executive Office of the President, or similar office established by or at the direction of the President” who is appointed to a position that would otherwise require Senate confirmation.

This is great news! These radical czars need to be reined in, big time. I hope that the GOP eliminates the "Czar" position completely or at least adds an amendment which would state that if Czars want to be advisers of the president they must be confirmed by the Senate.

A Plan to Inoculate the Contagious Infection Obamacare

David Catron from The American Spectator has an excellent plan on how to inoculate the contagious infection - Obamacare -  from spreading more than it has infected our lives already.  Did you know before there was RomneyCare in Mass. that there was DukakisCare? Thankfully the GOP halted that by defunding the DukakisCare "reform" debacle.  Hopefully we can do the same with Obamacare.  Rep. John Boehner made the most magnanimous pledge on repealing and replacing the health care law during his interview with Bret Baier saying, 'I'll make sure Obamacare is never implemented'. This is wonderful! He also hinted that he and the newly elected Republican majority in Congress has "a lot of tricks up our sleeves" to follow through on that promise.  You go Boehner!!  Inoculate Obamacare!!

We The People Have Spoken

Yesterday all across the country we the people spoke and loud and clear with our votes and repudiated Obama’s big government policies. There was a tidal wave which ousted Democrats who voted for initiatives that were diametrically opposed to the will of the people. In my state of Pennsylvania we voted in Pat Toomey to the Senate and Tom Corbett as our next governor. There were many great wins across the United States including Marco Rubio in Florida, Kirk who was elected to Obama’s old senate seat in Illinois, Rand Paul in Kentucky, Lt. Col. Allen West in Florida, and Nikki Haley in South Carolina. We ousted quite a few who were past due retiring such as Rep. Dingle, Sen. Feingold, Rep. Grayson, and Rep. Pomeroy. Unfortunately, there were some losses in California, in the land of liberal loons. These people who voted for Boxer and Brown must be enamored with higher taxes, less opportunities, high debt, and high unemployment to elect Jerry Brown and re-elect Ma’am Boxer. It is highly disappointing that Nevadans would vote for Harry Reid who single handedly has destroyed Nevada’s economy. Both the Tea Party and the GOP must now begin working to repair the damage that Obama’s radical policies have caused America. This is a time for hope, for optimism, for there were many constitutional loving Americans who were elected last night who will help this country get back on track. God Bless America!

Rep. Peter King: “Countries and Terror Groups That Were Terrified of Bush Now Think Obama Might Apologize to Them”

I agree with Rep. Peter King. How many terrorist attacks have we had on American soil since President Obambi took Office? 4.   The four attacks are: the Arkansas shooting at the military recruiting office, the "Underwear Bomber's" attempt to blow up a plane,  the Ft. Hood shooting at an army base, and the most recent Times Square attempted bombing.  What if all four of those attacks were 9/11 like and caused an unsurmountable number of deaths?  Thankfully, they were not.  But, my point is the number of times that Muslim extremists have slipped through the cracks and either caused harm or tried to cause harm to innocent Americans. At least four terrorist attacks were carried out by Islamist extremists and Obama and his administration have an obligation to keep citizens safe and make sure that this type of incident doesn't happen on U.S. soil again.  I guess Obama's policy of reaching out his hand to our enemies isn't working. It looks like these Muslim extremists would just like to cut off Obama's hand and destroy the West. His policies of appeasement and compromise are failing and the Islamic extremist community is taking advantage of this weak president.  I want a President that has a backbone and stands up against Islamic extremists.

“You had countries and you had [terrorist] organizations who are absolutely terrified of what George Bush might do to them …. Now I think many of them feel that the President may apologize to them or he may reach out the hand of friendship.”

Another Politically Motivated Attack- Brick Hurled Through GOP Office Window in Michigan

A brick was thrown through the window of the “Fix Michigan Center” in Genoa Township over the weekend in what they are calling “politically-motivated violence.”
A brick smashed through the office today of the Michigan Republican Party in Howell.

Freep.com reported:

A brick hurled through the window of the Michigan Republican Party’s office in Howell has the words ”Long Live the USA” and “God Bless the USA” scrawled on it, according to Livingston County Sheriff’s investigators.

The vandalism was discovered this morning by staff at the GOP’s Fix Michigan Center office, according to state GOP spokesperson Jennifer Hoff. No one was injured when the large, storefront window was smashed, she said. The office is located in a strip mall on Grand River Avenue, the main drag through Howell.

Michigan Republican Party Chief of Staff Josh Venable called it a politically motivated act.

“This type of reckless vandalism has no place in our democracy. While those who oppose us have resorted to throwing bricks, Michigan Republicans remain steadfast in our mission to fix Michigan,” Venable said in prepared statement.

The violent incidents that have been perpatrated against GOP member's offices is despicable. And, the fact that the MSM have not covered these attacks is despicable and displays a lack of ethics by them as well.  The MSM is aiding the Democratic Party in their blatant cover ups of newsworthy stories.
