Thank You Rick Santorum: If It Wasn't for Your Support of Specter We (most likely) Wouldn't Have Either Alito or Roberts on Supreme Court
Senator Arlen Specter was the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee when Rick Santorum was in the senate. Being the sneaky opportunistic little devil that Specter was he pretty much blackmailed Santorum, saying if you support my reelection bid I will support whichever Supreme Court nominees that Pres. Bush picks. The fact that Specter was the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee meant that he had a lot of power over who was going to make it out of the committee. So, yes, Santorum supported Specter over Toomey. Santorum knew that his decision to do so would be a greater benefit in the long run to both conservatism and the pro-life movement. Now, we have Justices Samuel Alito and John Roberts, two conservative strict constructionists that will be on the Supreme Court for a very long time which will benefit us for years to come. What if Santorum had said no to Specter and there were two moderate wishy-washy types sitting on the bench today where would that leave us with Obamacare and other important controversial issues brought before the Supreme Court? So, I send a big thank you to Rick Santorum for supporting the greater good. Pennsylvania conservatives should be thanking Santorum for this, not chastising him and railing against him because of what you perceive as a mistake, a blemish on his conservative, pro-life credentials. His conservative, pro-life credentials are very much in tact. He supported Specter in exchange for two pro-life justices who are now sitting on the Supreme Court. He made a good deal. Santorum made the best decision he could have at that time. He turned a lemon into lemonade IMO because now we have two lifetime appointed, pro-life, strict constructionist justices on the Supreme Court.
Senator Pat Toomey On The Debt Debate
I am proud to say that my senator, Senator Pat Toomey, has been outspoken and at the forefront of these debt talks. He is one of the co-sponsors of "Cut, Cap, and Balance" and has strongly criticized both the Democrats and the President on how they have handled the debt talks. Here is a speech which Sen. Pat Toomey gave on the Senate floor a few days ago. In the second video he talks with Sean Hannity on the whole debt debate drama.
Senator Pat Toomey's Balanced Budget Proposal
My senator from the great state of Pennsylvania has put together a budget proposal. I have to say that I am proud to have Pat Toomey as my senator. Senator Pat Toomey's budget simplifies the tax code, balances the budget in nine years, and reduces the publicly held debt from close to 70 percent of GDP today to 52 percent by 2021. He does this by reducing the spending to 18.5 percent of GDP. He decided to focus on one thing at a time, first proposing a balanced budget but he does know and understand that social security needs to be reformed. Overall, I have to say that I am pleased with his budget proposal.
Here are the cosponsors of the Budget Proposal:
Cosponsored by Sens. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), David Vitter (R-La.), Tom Coburn
(R-Okla.), Richard Burr (R-N.C.), James Risch (R-Idaho), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Ron
Johnson (R-Wisc.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah)
Pat Toomey states:
Let me just mention one other thing. It's my view that a permanent solution to the
fiscal challenges that we face will require broader reforms than what we have in
this budget. For instance, ultimately, we need to reform the Social Security
program; we need to reform Medicare. But this budget represents what we think of as
a necessary first step. It reaches balance. It does so within the foreseeable
future, within 10 years in fact, and in the process, I hope that it will demonstrate
and earn for us a restored trust in our ability to grapple with the big problems
that we face. This in turn, will buy us the time we need for the long-term reforms
for our federal budget.
I'm not aware of any country that has ever dramatically grown its government,
generated massive spending beyond its means, run up huge deficits, accumulated
massive debt, monetized part of it and then lived happily ever after. We won't be
the first. We're either going to stay on this current path and suffer the
consequences that will come from this very irresponsible spending - the consequences
of diminished opportunity at best - or we're going to depart from this path and
adopt the fiscal discipline that our constituents expect of us and adopt the
pro-growth reforms that will allow our economy to recover and allow us to enjoy
another great American century.
The time to choose is now. And the time is running out.
Here is an overview of Sen. Toomey's balanced budget proposal.

Pinocchio Sestak
Sestak's nose is surely growing due to all of his rampant dishonesty. Apparently, Sestak has potentially violated House ethics rules barring earmarks going to for-profit groups. But, now Sestak & Co. is spinning this story in an effort to explain away such dishonesty.
From NRO: At issue is whether Sestak’s congressional office was aware that Devitt, who requested a $350,000 earmark as chairman of the Thomas Paine Foundation, also heads a for-profit group called New Way Energy, LLC., which would have “partnered” with his foundation to develop a potentially for-profit wind prototype.
The problem is: The Thomas Paine Foundation exists only on paper. Calls from Battle ‘10 to the foundation were unsuccessful. An automated message noted that the number had been disconnected. The foundation hasn’t filed a federal tax return in six years. In 2004, its most recent filing year, its budget totaled $195, with “program expenses” amounting to $65.
The Thomas Paine Foundation “partners” with the Freethought Society of Greater Philadelphia, an atheist advocacy group, though in comments to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Devitt said the latter advocacy group had “nothing to do with the request.”
April Mellody, spokeswoman for Sestak’s campaign, blamed Devitt for misleading congressional staffers when applying for his earmark. But Devitt told the Tribune-Review, “I don’t believe I misled them.”
Nachama Soloveichik, Pat Toomey’s communications director, told Battle ‘10, “Either Congressman Sestak isn’t telling Pennsylvanians the whole truth about his latest earmark violation, or his office is guilty of gross incompetence.”
Critics have emerged, including Pennsylvania Republican Chairman Rob Gleason, who have questioned how thoroughly Sestak’s congressional office researches earmark requests.
The earmark request has been rejected by a House appropriations subcommittee. But that it was even proposed by Sestak raises the question of what Sestak’s office considers “due diligence.” What would qualify a foundation — with no prior research and development experience and whose most recent programs budget totaled $65 — for a $350,000 wind-energy grant?
With his involvement in "jobsgate" and this new accusation, Sestak is certainly proving himself to be an extremely untrustworthy candidate for the Pa Senate seat. This is why as many Pennsylvanians as possible must get out and vote for Pat Toomey, who is trustworthy, in the November election.
Obamacare: Betrayal by Unprincipled Catholic Nuns & USCCB Paves Way For Abortion Funding
It has come to light that Obama's executive order banning fundng of abortions isn't worth a darn. Thanks to CHA, other "Catholic" nuns and the USCCB many more unborn babies will be murdered. Under Obamacare, Obama will give $160 million to Pennsyvania to set up new "high-risk" insurance pools that will fund abortions. Many of our Catholic hierarchy in the United States have lost their way. This has got to stop! I sure hope Pope Benedict continues clearing the filth that is rampant among certain Bishops and nuns in the U.S.

Sen. Arlen Specter: The End of an Error
Benedict Arlen Specter has been ousted by Rep. Joe Sestak in the Democratic Primary. This is the end of an error- a big error. He is a political opportunist who deserved to lose in this primary.
From The Politico: "It's been a great privilege to serve the people of Pennsylvania," Specter said with a pained voice to a small but appreciative audience that chanted his first name at the beginning and end of his remarks at his election night headquarters.
He didn't serve the voters of Pennsylvania's interests but rather his own selfish interests. Good riddance, Snarlen Arlen. Specter retiring is one of the best things to happen to Pennsylvania in a long while.

I support Steve Johnson for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania
Steve Johnson is running for lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. I actually had the pleasure of meeting him about a year ago. He was raised in Pennsylvania, was an Eagle Scout, a soldier who served in Desert Storm, a Penn State graduate, and is now a small business owner.
Here are his Priorities for PA:
Jobs
The greatest Return on Investment (ROI) to our communities happens when citizens are rewarded for innovation, taking risks, and working hard. Government's job is to foster an environment to help businesses grow rather than to control them. Pennsylvanians will create greater opportunity and greater prosperity for our Commonwealth when government simply gets out of the way.
Government Spending and Regulation
Pennsylvania has lost 200,000 jobs since July 2008. Our state ranks 47th in the nation in being business friendly. Creating a business friendly environment must be government's #1 priority.
Since 1970, Pennsylvania's government costs have skyrocketed 167% (inflation adjusted). The taxes we pay can no longer keep up with the pace of the spending. Neither your business nor your household can afford to operate this way without serious financial distress. You know you can't spend beyond your means neither can your government.
Steve Johnson has always done the job in business. Steve Johnson will bring successful practices and his strong leadership skills to work for you.
Healthcare
All Pennsylvanians deserve health care coverage, but I am opposed to the health care legislation that could place Harrisburg Bureaucrats in control of healthcare. More government control will raise taxes, increase government spending and lower the quality of care. We must strengthen the existing private market system with policies that will drive down costs and make it easier for people to purchase affordable insurance.
Security: No Misguided 9/11 Trial in PA
9/11 terrorist trials have no place in Western PA. Acts of war belong in military tribunals. We need to make our stand here and now.
Barack Obama and Ed Rendell have no right to force this misguided trial on Pennsylvanians. This is just another example of wrongheaded and irresponsible decision-making by politicians that have put us on the wrong track.
The associated costs would be in the hundreds of millions of dollars while needlessly placing thousands of lives at risk.
Family Man
Steve and his family are active members of the Living Word Community Church in Red Lion, PA. Steve lives in York County with Jane, his wife of 17 years. They are the proud parents of four children, Ian (13) Olivia (11), Philip (8) and Matthew (7).

Toomey and Sestak Debate at Health Care Town Hall
Last night, I watched two candidates running for the senate seat in Pa face off on the health care debate at Muhlenbergh College in Pa. Pat Toomey and Joe Sestak are two candidates who want to oust Arlen Specter from his senatorial seat in 2010. Pat Toomey is in the lead in the Republican primary, according to a Rasmussen poll. Pat Toomey's popularity spread like wildfire among Republicans, and then Sen. Arlen Specter like the opportunist that he is, ran to the Democrats like he was scared. Joe Sestak is challenging Arlen Specter in the Democratic Primary. The two both agree that health care reform is needed but disagree on how to fix it.
When Sestak spoke during his opening statement he looked like he was auditioning for Broadway. Sestak is against Tort Reform. He claims that it is only a very small percentage of the health care problem. Sestak said, competition is important but he doesn't want to open up the borders so that citizens can cross state lines to buy health insurance. As the debate moved along Sestak started with this dramatic sob stories, and then looked like he was going to cry. To me, he was acting like a drama queen. It was like he was trying to gain the sympathy vote, or something. Sestak was there defending and promoting Obama's health care bill.
Toomey said that we need to change the way we pay for health care, that access to health care is a problem, and that escalating costs is also a problem. Toomey said that big government mandates, huge new taxes on both workers and employers is not the correct way to fix the health care problem. Toomey is pro Tort Reform. Toomey is positively for opening up the borders so that there can be more competition among insurance companies and citizens will be able to cross state lines to buy health insurance policies. This type of competition would almost certainly force the health insurance companies to lower the costs related to health care. In Pat Toomey describing U.K.'s health care, he said that the U.K. has commissions who decides who gets health care and who doesn't. And, the commission has stated that one person's life for 6 months is worth $23,000. That is exactly how much Britain will spend on a person's health care over a 6 month period. Plus, Toomey stated that a huge number of Canadians cross over the border to the United States to gain better access to health care.
Sestak was like a guy in an empty suit. He wasn't very inspiring at all. He was boring. His answers seemed like they were in some type of code. Toomey was straightforward. In my opinion, he was on fire and nailed every question. Toomey, a former business owner, even made the connection of how Obama's health care bill would affect small business owners.
