Pinocchio Sestak

Sestak's nose is surely growing due to all of his rampant dishonesty.  Apparently, Sestak has potentially violated House ethics rules barring earmarks going to for-profit groups.  But, now Sestak & Co. is spinning this story in an effort to explain away such dishonesty.

From NRO: At issue is whether Sestak’s congressional office was aware that Devitt, who requested a $350,000 earmark as chairman of the Thomas Paine Foundation, also heads a for-profit group called New Way Energy, LLC., which would have “partnered” with his foundation to develop a potentially for-profit wind prototype.

The problem is: The Thomas Paine Foundation exists only on paper. Calls from Battle ‘10 to the foundation were unsuccessful. An automated message noted that the number had been disconnected. The foundation hasn’t filed a federal tax return in six years. In 2004, its most recent filing year, its budget totaled $195, with “program expenses” amounting to $65.

The Thomas Paine Foundation “partners” with the Freethought Society of Greater Philadelphia, an atheist advocacy group, though in comments to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Devitt said the latter advocacy group had “nothing to do with the request.”

April Mellody, spokeswoman for Sestak’s campaign, blamed Devitt for misleading congressional staffers when applying for his earmark. But Devitt told the Tribune-Review, “I don’t believe I misled them.”

Nachama Soloveichik, Pat Toomey’s communications director, told Battle ‘10, “Either Congressman Sestak isn’t telling Pennsylvanians the whole truth about his latest earmark violation, or his office is guilty of gross incompetence.”

Critics have emerged, including Pennsylvania Republican Chairman Rob Gleason, who have questioned how thoroughly Sestak’s congressional office researches earmark requests.

The earmark request has been rejected by a House appropriations subcommittee. But that it was even proposed by Sestak raises the question of what Sestak’s office considers “due diligence.” What would qualify a foundation — with no prior research and development experience and whose most recent programs budget totaled $65 — for a $350,000 wind-energy grant?

With his involvement in "jobsgate" and this new accusation, Sestak is certainly proving himself to be an extremely untrustworthy candidate for the Pa Senate seat.  This is why as many Pennsylvanians as possible must get out and vote for Pat Toomey, who is trustworthy, in the November election.

Obama Birth Certificate Questioned on House Floor

While I tend to think that Obama was born in the U.S. or is considered a U.S. citizen I do believe it is proper for him to follow the chain of Presidents in releasing his birth certificate and other documents.

“Little baby with ink on their foot, stamped right there on the birth certificate – there’s one in this country we haven’t seen,’” he said. “But the footprints on those we have seen. Those little babies owe Uncle Sam $44,000.”

Lies, Earmarks, and Corruption in the Health Care Bills

Reps. Peter Hoekstra and John Shadegg point out very eloquently that if Max Baucus and other Democrats weren't politicians they'd all be in jail. These health care bills have nothing to do with health care at all, but is a huge power grab to control more of our lives, and take away more of our freedom. The Democrats scheme is downright criminal. Most of the damn Democrats are corrupt to the core. This is a power grab, and one of the biggest power grabs in history. This is a hatchet job being committed by Democrats upon the American people.
Here is the article called, Lies, Earmarks, and Corruption All In One Bill:

We are nominating Sen. Baucus' health care reform bill for the Pulitzer Prize — for fiction.

Like works of great fiction writers such as Ernest Hemingway, Joseph Conrad and F. Scott Fitzgerald, the story line of the Baucus bill is not what it seems and is in fact a clever subterfuge of what health care reform will mean for the American people.

Hiding behind this facade is another story about a massive power grab by the Washington political establishment.

The bill is loaded with fiction. To begin with, it purports to reduce the deficit. This is really an Enron-style scam with the bill's massive new taxes starting on day one and its dramatic new health care expenditures, which will far exceed the tax revenues, beginning in year four.
Hence its favorable score: 10 years of revenue, seven of expenditures. In the private sector, people go to jail for this type of accounting; in the U.S. Senate, they trumpet it as good news.

The Baucus bill claims to treat all Americans equitably, yet four states receive Medicaid exemptions — the federal government will pick up the state's share of Medicaid costs — for five years. That means taxpayers in 46 states will subsidize other states, including Nevada, so Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid can bring home the bacon and get re-elected.

Sen. Chuck Schumer put in a little-noticed provision that exempts New Yorkers and taxpayers from some other states from the bill's tax on gold-plated insurance plans. The result: The rest of the nation will subsidize the health care of New Yorkers and a few others.

If you're lucky enough to live in one of the favored states, you win. If not, you lose. Guess how many of those states are blue and have Democratic senators up for re-election? Hardly seems fair, does it? Huge earmarks and health care favoritism for states served by powerful Washington elites.

There are other massive earmarks in this bill. Up to $10 billion will go to VEBA, such as the underfunded retirement health care package of United Auto Workers retirees. This may or may not be a good idea, but it clearly does not belong in this legislation.

The bill has huge, new mandated costs on the states for Medicaid, and there are many other costs omitted from the bill that will need to be paid for by taxpayers. The bill claims savings it says will be achieved by reducing reimbursement rates to doctors and hospitals. This has never happened in the past and won't now. It is pure fiction. CONTINUED

Zero House Democrats Willing to Adopt Government Run Health Care for Themselves

Rep. John Fleming along with
twenty seven other Republicans have sponsored:

House Resolution 615
Which consists of:
Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Members who vote in favor of the establishment of a public, Federal Government run health insurance option are urged to forgo their right to participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and agree to enroll under that public option.
Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that Members who vote in favor of the establishment of a public, Federal Government run health insurance option are urged to forgo their right to participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and agree to enroll under that public option.
NO Democrats have agreed to this Resolution
Why?
If Democrats really think Obama's Govt. run health care is so great why haven't they agreed to enroll under the public option? I think the House Democrats know that this program doesn't even come close to the high quality of health insurance and health care, that they are provided under their Federal Health Benefits Program. So, why would they want the American people to have a lesser quality of health care then they do? I don't know. Doesn't this show exactly how much House Democrats care about U.S. citizens' health care?
Very Little, If at all
Only When Its Time to Vote

The Gang of Eight Who Abandoned Us

We have yet again, been let down by our Republican Representatives. If all of the Republicans in the House of Representatives had stuck together, and shown conviction in standing up to Pelosi, by voting against this Cap & Trade Bill, then this Bill would have been stopped in its tracks. But, no, that didn't happen. These eight Republicans caved in to Pelosi's and Waxman's pressure, and voted YES on the Cap & Trade Bill. These eight Republicans have absolutely NO backbones!!! This Bill has now passed a hurtle and is off to be debated in the Senate. We MUST stop this Bill from being passed in the Senate!!!! Please Call all your Senators, to stop this travesty from happening!!!!

I don't get it, these Republicans are supposed to stand up against higher taxes, but they didn't. They have abandoned us, as conservatives, and our belief in smaller government. This Cap & Trade Bill will cause massive taxes on American consumers. This Bill will cause an economic crisis to turn into a castatrophe. These eight Representatives MUST BE VOTED OUT OF OFFICE!!!!!!

Here are the names of the eight Republicans who voted Yes to the Cap & Trade Bill:

Do Not Allow Obama To Serve a 3rd Term-Stop Resolution 5 From Being Passed

Some information has just been brought to my attention regarding a piece of congressional legislation. The House of Representatives has proposed a resolution called House Joint Resolution 5 that would repeal the 22nd Amendment which limits the President to two terms. This would allow President Obama to run for a third term. I don't think any President, neither Good nor Bad should be allowed to serve more than two terms. I believe that if this amendment is passed it would open the door to a wide variety of abuses by both our President and our government. The passing of this bill could open the door to even more government control. This could even open the door for the United States to no longer be a democratic country. The U.S could be ruled by a dictatorship instead of having free and open elections.

Rep. Jose Serrano of NYC is the person who introduced this House Joint Resolution 5. Here is his contact information in order to petition him to stop this resolution from moving forward.
