Sentenced To Die By a Canadian Hospital, Fr. Pavone and Priests for Life Champion The Cause To Save Baby Joseph’s Life
The only thing Baby Josephs’ parents wanted was to have a tracheotomy and bring their baby home. A Canadian Hospital and the Canadian Courts refused and took away the parents rights to determine what is best for their child. A death order was given and a date was set to remove his breathing tube.
Priests for Life, with the help of countless others, stood firm and refused to let Baby Joseph die such a horrific death. Here is the story of how Baby Joseph went from a death sentence, to St. Louis Cardinal Glennon Hospital to home without any tubes. Well worth the time to watch and share with others.
Associated Press – The child known as Baby Joseph who is at the center of an end-of-life debate is now home.
Fifteen-month-old Joseph Maraachli left Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis before dawn Thursday and flew with his parents and 7-year-old brother back to Canada, exactly one month after receiving a tracheotomy.
The Rev. Frank Pavone of New York City-based Priests for Life, which lobbies against abortion rights and euthanasia and paid for Joseph’s transfer to St. Louis, confirms that the family is back in their home in Ontario.
Baby Joseph suffers from the progressive neurological disease Leigh Syndrome. Doctors in Canada had refused to perform the tracheotomy, saying it was futile, and an Ontario court decided doctors could remove the child’s breathing tube.
His family sought help from American hospitals, and Cardinal Glennon agreed to treat Joseph.
There is something special about Baby Joseph!
May God Bless All Those Dedicated To Saving Baby Joseph’s Life.
When President Obama promised in his inaugural address to “restore science to its rightful place,” he never explained what that rightful place would be. Documents recently released in connection with the Supreme Court nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan suggest an answer: wherever it can best be used to skew political debate and judicial outcomes.
The documents involved date from the Clinton White House. They show Miss Kagan’s willingness to manipulate medical science to fit the Democratic party’s political agenda on the hot-button issue of abortion. As such, they reflect poorly on both the author and the president who nominated her to the Supreme Court.
There is no better example of this distortion of science than the language the United States Supreme Court cited in striking down Nebraska’s ban on partial-birth abortion in 2000. This language purported to come from a “select panel” of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a supposedly nonpartisan physicians’ group. ACOG declared that the partial-birth-abortion procedure “may be the best or most appropriate procedure in a particular circumstance to save the life or preserve the health of a woman.” The Court relied on the ACOG statement as a key example of medical opinion supporting the abortion method.
Years later, when President Bush signed a federal partial-birth-abortion ban (something President Clinton had vetoed), the ACOG official policy statement was front and center in the attack on the legislation. U.S. District Court Judge Richard Kopf, one of the three federal judges that issued orders enjoining the federal ban (later overturned by the Supreme Court), devoted more than 15 pages of his lengthy opinion to ACOG’s policy statement and the integrity of the process that led to it.
Like the Supreme Court majority in the prior dispute over the Nebraska ban, Judge Kopf asserted that the ACOG policy statement was entitled to judicial deference because it was the result of an inscrutable collaborative process among expert medical professionals. “Before and during the task force meeting,” he concluded, “neither ACOG nor the task force members conversed with other individuals or organizations, including congressmen and doctors who provided congressional testimony, concerning the topics addressed” in the ACOG statement.
In other words, what medical science has pronounced, let no court dare question. The problem is that the critical language of the ACOG statement was not drafted by scientists and doctors. Rather, it was inserted into ACOG’s policy statement at the suggestion of then–Clinton White House policy adviser Elena Kagan.
The task force’s initial draft statement did not include the statement that the controversial abortion procedure “might be” the best method “in a particular circumstance.” Instead, it said that the select ACOG panel “could identify no circumstances under which this procedure . . . would be the only option to save the life or preserve the health of the woman.” CONTINUED

Environmentalists seem to be more willing to defend the rights of animals than defending the rights of unborn babies and the destruction of their own species.
I came upon this true story about the Santorum Family's faith filled love for their daughter at the blog, Pundit and Pundette. God Bless the Santorum Family. Rick and Karen Santorum are pro-life and are very much pro-life advocates in our society today. They are really walking the walk and not just talking the talk. They are blessed with a very special gift from God, and her name is Isabella Maria.
Rick Santorum States: 'Incompatible with life." The doctor's words kept echoing in my head as I held my sobbing wife, Karen, just four days after the birth of our eighth child, Isabella Maria.
Bella was born with three No. 18 chromosomes, rather than the normal two. The statistics were heartbreaking: About 90 percent of children with the disorder, known as trisomy 18, die before or during birth, and 90 percent of those who survive die within the first year.
Bella was baptized that day, and then we spent every waking hour at her bedside, giving her a lifetime's worth of love and care. However, not only did she not die; she came home in just 10 days.
She was sent home on hospice care, strange as that sounded for a newborn. The hospice doctor visited us the next day and described in graphic detail how Bella would die. In sum, she could die at any time without warning, and the best we could hope for was that she would die of the common cold.
Karen and I discontinued hospice so that we and our amazing doctors, James Baugh and Sunil Kapoor, could get to work focusing on Bella's health, not her death.
Like so many moms of special kids, Karen is a warrior, caring for Bella night and day and, at times, fighting with health-care providers and our insurance company to get our daughter the care she needs.
Being the parent of a special child gives one exceptional insight into the negative perception of the disabled among many medical professionals, particularly when they see your child as having an intellectual disability. Sadly, we discovered that not only did we have to search for doctors who had experience with trisomy 18. We also had to search for those who saw Bella not as a fatal diagnosis, but as a wanted and loved daughter and sister, as well as a beautiful gift from God.
We knew from experience that Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was such a place. Fourteen years ago, we had another baby who was diagnosed as having no hope, but CHOP's Dr. Scott Adzick gave him a shot at life. In the end, we lost our son Gabriel, but we will always be grateful to Dr. Adzick for affirming the value of his life.
When Bella was 3 months old, she needed some minor but vital surgery. Some doctors told us that a child like Bella wouldn't survive surgery or, even worse, that surgery was "not recommended" because of her genetic condition - in other words, that her life wasn't worth saving. So we again turned to the Children's Hospital and found compassion, concern, and hope in Dr. Thane Blinman. He told us he had several trisomy 18 patients who did well - and so did Bella.
Next week, we will mark Bella's second birthday. Over these two years, we have endured two close brushes with death, lots of sleepless nights, more than a month in CHOP's intensive care unit, and the constant anxiety that the next day could be our little girl's last.
And yet we have also been inspired - by her fighting spirit, and by the miracle of seeing our little flower blossom into a loving, joyful child who is at the center of our family life.
Most children with trisomy 18 diagnosed in the womb are aborted. Most who survive birth are given hospice care until they die. In these cases, doctors advise parents that these disabled children will die young or be a burden to them and society. But couldn't the same be said of many healthy children?
All children are a gift that comes with no guarantees. While Bella's life may not be long, and though she requires our constant care, she is worth every tear.
Living with Bella has been a course in character and virtue. She makes us better. And it's not just our family; she enriches every life she touches. In the end, isn't that what every parent hopes for his or her child?
Tim Burns is the Republican nominee in the Special Election for Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District. He is running to take over John Murtha's seat.
Tim Burns will vote to repeal healthcare bill. He will fight against cap-n-trade while working to create jobs in Pennsylvania's energy industry. Western Pa's coal and natural gas resources will power America and create jobs for the region. He agrees that government spending is unsustainable and he will work to produce a budget that protects the future well-being of our children and grandchildren.
He is pro-life and believes there is no question that life begins at conception. He doesn't think saying you are pro-life is good enough. He thinks we need to provide and encourage viable alternatives to abortion and work to decrease the number of unwanted pregnancies in the first place. He believes that Marriage should be defined as a union between a man and a woman. He is a lifelong gun owner and a member of the NRA, and believes in the 2nd Amendment and Americans right to defend themselves.
Tim believes that America must be vigilant against our enemies. In Congress, he'll never stop working to keep America safe from terrorists, and will always work to protect and fund our servicemen and women.
Controversy within the Catholic blogosphere as to whether Sr. Keehan’s statement’s here(and posted below) imply that if a person doesn’t support ‘Comprehensive Health Care Revolution Reform’-Obamacare- than you are not pro-life. I agree with Tantamergo, A Dallas Area Catholic’s assessment here since Sr. Keehan and the Catholic Health Association have made it quite clear in there statements and letters to politicians that they are supportive of Obamacare (a.k.a. comprehensive health care reform) so it is not far-fetched to come to the common sense conclusion that she was implying that if you don’t support Obamacare than you are not pro-life. While over at Vox Nova and here, they are defending Sr. Keehan’s statements and consistently defend controversial statements made by pro-abortion people, I have yet to see them defend controversial statements that were made by pro-life agencies, but yet have attacked them in the past. And, if you had any doubts about Sr. Keehan’s allegiance to Obamacare and “compressive health care reform” then they can be allayed now since in researching the CHA website I have found links to one video that CHA contributed signs and to the montage of signs that displayed support for Obamacare and the fact that Sr. Keehan visited the White House with the sole purpose of showing her support for Obamacare. Both she and the CHS are so heavily invested in the support of “Comprehensive health care revolution reform” -Obamacare- that the CHS combined with other hospitals have pledged a total of $155 billion to support the President’s efforts for health care reform. So, I think only a nonsensical elitist-minded individual who is stuck in the some alternate reality could believe that Sr. Keehan was not referring to people who are against Obamacare as not being pro-life.
And, these people who think that universal health care or single payer system, or government run health care is the panacea that would fix our health care accessibility and affordability problems are misguided. If these people think turning the way our doctors practice health care upside down and turning the whole system over to the Federal government is going to solve those issues they are highly misinformed and misled by certain people within either the Catholic community or by politicians. Should we sacrifice quality versus quantity in our health care system as other countries have done? Why do you think many people from other countries come to the U.S. when they’re sick and need a certain medical procedure performed on them that isn’t offered in their country? Patients come here for treatment here because we offer the invaluable procedures that they need and their country doesn’t because they’re country’s government limits the ingenuity of the medical professions and thus offers fewer procedures. Why is the U.S. able to offer what other countries can‘t? It is because of the principles of freedom and liberty in America and our Founders explicitly provided us with a road map for a limited government that would not intrude into our private lives as a government run health care system would. In other countries, the government controls what procedures may be done, the number of patients which may be seen, and many aspects of health care so this limits their availability to treat patients effectively. The United States treats people more effectively than other country around the globe because the government is not controlling every aspect of the doctors’ and patients’ lives. Doctors and medical researchers can use ingenuity to find new treatments, procedures and surgeries to help patients because they are not reliant on the government for monetary funds or approval for this and that procedure. As bad as you think it is with insurance companies it is much worse under the control of the government.
These same people like to apply the seamless garment philosophy in thinking that helping all of the poor in the name of “social justice” is on the same plane as the abortion issue. This simply isn’t true. To think that opposition to comprehensive health care reform-Obamacare- is on the same plane as being pro-abortion is fallacious. As children of God we do have a moral obligation to help the poor, but it is not wrong for us to choose to help one person instead of another person. It is not evil for us to choose to help Joe while being unable to help Robin at the same time. It is important for us, as children of God, to do these acts of charity which takes a free-will on our part instead of being forced by the government to give money to the poor. But, abortion is morally different. Abortion is always murder- it is never morally licit. Abortion is an intrinsic evil. No exercise of the act of killing an innocent human being is ever licit, but it can be licit to refrain from an act of charity which would benefit this or that poor or sick person. If one is of limited means, one is obligated to see to the needs of his or her family before tossing away one’s resources on strangers. It is our obligation to adhere to both moral law and civil law and not to commit murder, or kill ANY innocent human being. It is entirely appropriate for the government to compel our obedience to the law and demand under the threat of force that we refrain from murder. But how appropriate is it for the state to compel our charitable giving at the point of a gun (effectively eliminating its value as an act of charity)?
A new country music star has been born. His debut song has an awesome pro-life message, and an all around good, moral, and wholesome message. Matt Kennon's debut hit single is called, "the Call." As days go by, I am becoming more and more a fan of country music. These country music stars espouse my same set of core values and beliefs. A big H/T goes to A Catholic View for finding this video.
From Pittsburgh-Tribune, a Pittsburgh woman is accused of leaving her baby in the car: PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A Pittsburgh woman is accused of leaving her baby girl locked in a car in subfreezing temperatures.
Twenty-five-year-old Dori Lee Zielmanski was arrested after she returned to the car Monday evening. Police say she told them she left the baby in the car while she went to the bathroom. Investigators say a passer-by noticed the child and called police. Authorities say the baby was left alone for at least 15 minutes in the car in the Bloomfield neighborhood. Zielmanski faces charges including child endangerment. She was arraigned early Tuesday morning. It was not immediately clear if she was still in custody. The baby was transported to a hospital to be checked out. Social workers are now caring for the girl.

FEMINAZI
Alright, stupidity is the word of the day. How can women, mothers specifically, but also people in general lack, be so lacking in common sense and turn into irresponsible nitwits? Did common sense go out the window? AAAHHHH!!! (scream) Some people are too stupid or not raised properly by their parents to know how to take care of babies and kids of their own. These people who are stupid should not engage in "safe" sex. It makes me think of the image below. It comes to us from Sig94 at Goomba News Network. He came up with this funny slogan in response to N.O.W. and other pro-abortion groups who are against the Tim Tebow ad airing during the Super Bowl. I think it is most appropos for this situation also. First of all, who in the heck in their right mind would leave a baby or child in their car? In an unsafe neighborhood? Bloomfield is an okay neighborhood, but in my opinion it is not an extra specially safe neighborhood. But, regardless, anyone with any amount of parenting skills whatsoever would NEVER, and I'll repeat this, would NEVER leave their child in a car, let alone in a freezing car. In today's society is there some stupidity contest going on? It sure seems like it. In a poster below you will see that Should women in our society who display a blatant lack of respect for human life, or de-valuing of human life, and nonsensical women who lack the necessary skills to properly take care of their children be sent off to the school of morality & common sense? Sending them off to a school that teaches morals, values, and the difference between right and wrong would really help our society.
Former President George W. Bush will be honored the weekend of Feb. 5-6 by the lay group Legatus, and awarded the prestigious Cardinal John O' Connor Pro-Life Award for all of his efforts and accomplishments in advancing the pro-life cause.
As posted by the Catholic News Agency: The prestigious Cardinal John J. O'Connor Pro-Life Award is being given in response to the former president's eight years of pro-life legislation. Legatus cites his administration's opposition to embryonic stem cell research, an executive order barring federal funds from being used for abortion related projects abroad, the appointment of two pro-life Supreme Court Justices and a rule protecting federally funded health employees from taking part in abortion or practices that conflict with their faith as policies that Bush helped enact during his presidency.
The group of Catholic business professionals also noted that one of the former president's last efforts while in office included a declaration of Jan. 18, 2009 as “National Sanctity of Human Life Day,” along with a statement that “the most basic duty of government is to protect the life of the innocent.”
The former president will be a accompanied by a host of other speakers at the event, including Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop Timothy Dolan, actress Patricia Heaton, entrepreneur Frank J. Hanna III, Fr. Robert Spitzer, Newt and Callista Gingrich, and Thomas Donahue, the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
I am so happy that Legatus chose to honor President Bush's pro-life accomplishments enacted during his presidency. President Bush truly deserves this award. I liked him as President and will always say he was/is a good and moral man that stood up for all life, all innocent life, including unborn human life.

CBS should still air Tim Tebow's Superbowl Ad!!!! What an inspiring reality story for all to hear!!!
LifeSite News states, "But Tebow’s pro-life convictions spring from an unusually personal source: back in 1987, his mother contracted amoebic dysentery while pregnant with him in the Philippines, and doctors recommended abortion. Had Pam Tebow taken that advice, Tebow fans would never have seen the football phenomenon win the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and carry the Gators to victory in two major championships."
On the SunSentinel.com, Tim Tebow's father tells sports illustrated the story behind his son's birth:
“When I was out in the mountains in Mindanao, back in ’86, I was showing a film and preaching that night. I was weeping over the millions of babies being [aborted] in America, and I prayed, ‘God, if you give me a son, if you give me Timmy, I’ll raise him to be a preacher.’ ” Not long after, Bob and Pam Tebow conceived their fifth child. It was a very difficult pregnancy. “The placenta was never properly attached, and there was bleeding from the get-go,” Bob recalls. “We thought we’d lost him several times.” Early in the pregnancy Pam contracted amebic dysentery, which briefly put her in a coma. Her doctors, fearful that medications they had given her had damaged the fetus, advised her to abort it. She refused, and on Aug. 14, 1987, Pam delivered a healthy if somewhat scrawny Timothy Richard Tebow.
“All his life, from the moment he could understand, I told him, ‘You’re a miracle baby,’” Bob recalls. “‘God’s got a purpose for you, and at some point I think He’s going to call you to preach.’
“I asked God for a preacher, and he gave me a quarterback."
"At a Sunday press conference in Mobile, Tebow told the gaggle of reporters: "I know some people won't agree with [the ad], but I think they can at least respect that I stand up for what I believe, and I'm never shy about that."
"I don't feel like I'm very preachy about it, but I do stand up for what I believe. Unfortunately in today's society not many athletes tend to do that. So I'm just standing for something."
"But Tebow’s standing for pro-life values has outraged abortion advocacy groups, who fear the effect the Focus on the Family ad could have on millions of Super Bowl viewers on Feb. 7. Tebow’s story is already credited with having influenced a number of women to choose not to abort their babies."
Tim Tebow's mother chose LIFE. That is absolutely wonderful. Tim Tebow, would have NEVER EXISTED, WOULD HAVE BEEN MURDERED, if his mother had chosen to have an abortion. The Florida Gators would not have Tim Tebow, who is a top-tiered quarterback and a very skilled athlete playing for them, if Tim Tebow's mother had an abortion. SHE CHOSE LIFE!!!!
But, Unfortunately pro-abort women's groups like NOW(National Organization for women) and others want the ad planned to be aired on Superbowl Sunday to be yanked. These groups are NOT FOR CHOICE. If they really were for choice than they would have no qualms or complaints about the ad being run during the Superbowl. This display of ANTI-CHOICE by the so-called choicers displays just how committed they are to the pro-abortion or pro-death cause. These women's groups are really only for
ONE CHOICE=ABORTION=DEATH=MURDER OF AN INNOCENT BABY
The fact that there is a controversy over an ad that promotes a good message of life and family values shows the hypocrisy and shows that they ONLY support ONE CHOICE, the pro-death choice of these so-called pro-choice groups.
The Superbowl ad is called, “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life.” By these pro-choice women's groups opposing this ad, they effectively saying that we should not be celebrating Tim Tebow's wonderful life, his accomplishments, and that he should not have been born. His is a life to be celebrated. His accomplishments and life are very much worthy of praise and honoring in this TV ad.
From LifeSite News, “In the three and a half years that I advised FCC Chairman Kevin Martin on indecency issues, I can’t recall one time that NOW ever spoke out about the sexually graphic or misogynistic content on CBS,” Penny Nance, CEO for Concerned Women for America told LifeSiteNews.com. “I find it laughable that NOW has a problem with Tim Tebow sharing his own story. If NOW really cared about women they would stop flacking for the abortion industry and start working on behalf of women.”
"There’s nothing political and controversial about it,” said Gary Schneeberger, a spokesman for Focus on the Family. “When the day arrives, and you sit down to watch the game on TV, those who oppose it will be quite surprised at what the ad is all about."
"With the Super Bowl set to kick off in about two weeks, CBS, which has already reviewed and approved the ad’s script, has given no indication of yanking the Tebow ad."
You can sign the petition here to support the decision for CBS to air the the Tim Tebow Super Bowl Ad.
“CBS needs to hear the voices of those who support life and family as well,” said LSN editor, John-Henry Westen. “Therefore LSN is launching this petition addressed to CBS, asking them not to cave in to pressure to pull the Focus on the Family ad.”
"In a recent press release Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life commented on the war over the ad. "Why should it bother people who call themselves pro-choice if women watch Pam Tebow and her son Tim on Super Bowl Sunday and freely decide to choose life? Would fewer abortions be a bad thing?" he asked."
I have very fond memories of attending the March For Life. I always enjoyed attending the March and loved the opportunity to express my voice of discontent and outrage to a government that legalized the murder of innocent human beings. I started attending the March For Life with my Mom when I was in 7th grade and continued to go through high school, rode on a bus starting at midnight from Steubenville in college, and even attended a March for Life with my husband after returning to Maryland. This is one of my passions. I know that the unborn baby is alive and killing the baby is murder. But, out of selfishness our government promotes the killing of vulnerable unborn babies out of a so-called "choice." Our government has given into the devil. Any government that allows the murder of innocent unborn babies is EVIL and promoting EVIL and allowing EVIL to happen. We must stop this INFANTICIDE!!!! We must stop future generations from being murdered. We must keep on fighting the good fight against this evil government that authorizes and promotes the new slavery- ABORTION. We must continue to speak up and fight so that Roe vs. Wade is overturned. I wasn't able to go on the March for Life because of college classes but I did attend the Virtual March for life and find these video for you to see. This is the first of two posts on abortion and the March for Life.
Here are examples of two different ways abortions are performed:

Let us continue to fight to stop abortion. ABORTION IS MURDER!!!!!!!!
